Scat Procar seats in a '65

We installed the Procar Elite without the lumbar in our 65 Fastback. I bought them from Mustangs Plus and they came with the mounting brackets. They fit well but the seats are a bit high. I'm 5'-8" and my head almost hits my one piece headliner. No way I could fit with a normal headliner. That being said, my son is just over 6' and due to a shorter torso he fits just fine with room to spare.

I would use them again, but would lower the seat floor pan during the build.

BTDT.

They do sit up a bit higher than a stock 65/66 seat. I initially ran the 15" wood wheel, but switched to a 14" leather wheel for a little extra clearance. At 5'9", headliner clearance was OK without a helmet, tight with one. The big side bolsters are a bit of a pain to climb over on entry/exit, but they were very comfortable and hold you in place...

Thanks for chiming in, Bob. I've got the pic saved of the wooden wheel and Procar seats. I too have that wood wheel installed. Im 6'3" and have had an inch or two clearance over my head with the stock seats. I've always wanted a high back seat to support my back as the stock seat back extended up to the bottom of my shoulder blades. I'm looking forward to the look and feel of some decent seats.

Where they black vinyl? I still have the pic and they look like they fit.

our are the blck vinyl and they fit just fine. The ones that Bob showed are the Procar Rally seats. They have the higher side bolsters that make it more difficult to get in and out of the car as well as are very narrow and I am not big guy. This is the only pic I have on my phone. I can get a better picture tonight.

At 6'3", I could see lowered floor pans in your future.

I once did 630 miles in that car in ~9 hours... And mowed the lawn after I got home.
Very comfy for me, at least.

Seats ordered yesterday, adaptors ordered Tuesday. Pics to follow on my build thread. Thx for your input, men !!

BTW: Which way the adaptors mount on the floor? Flat side down of course but the ends are not symmetrical. And of course no instructions.

I don't recall the specifics, but one way it allowed the seats to mover further back, so that is the way I chose. I will take a look when I get home in a couple of hours.
