Lowering / stance

Ponyboy66

Pole Position
I was thinking of lowering another 1/4" all around. That would set the front seam weld at 7.5" and the lower control arms level to the ground. The rake is at 3/4". The front seam weld height is recommended by Mike Maier as optimal for steering geometry. My concern is the travel distance I have at my bump-stop, 1.5". Is the travel distance ok? Would lowering another 1/4" make a difference in performance on the track or should I leave it alone? Lowering3.jpg Lowering1.jpg Lowering2.jpg

I think you looks good as it sits. Lower would give it a more slammed look which for your car wouldn't look correct...at least to me. but hey its your car.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Honest opinions is what I am looking for. Lowering is less about the look and more about having the correct suspension geometry for track days.

After more measuring and calculating, if I buy track tires (200TW 225/50/16) for my second set of black wheels the ride height falls right into Mike Maier's recommendations. No more spring cutting for me! Bilstein Sport shocks are next on the list.
