Will TERRY finish his car for the Power Tour?

I had this thing on the positive track and then expensive new parts did me in. Long story that will get written up in the build thread but I lost at least few days because of a vendor screw-up. Will find out this morning when they open just how quickly they can fix their/my problem. Might cost me the Tour or at least the chance to swap out engines. Oh, yeah, issue with the new Caltracs too. More on the build thread.

Maybe it's time to be a bit more realistic and just run the first engine and rear end. No one on the Tour will know the difference unless we tell them!

We are loaded and ready to go, how are you doing Terry?

Feeling bummed that I am not going this year. The PT would be a lot more fun than a wedding to someone you only meet 4 times (but family).

Please post pics when you can so I can be there is spirit!
Sure thing John! And if you get Motor Trend On Demand, they have video of the HRPT 2013. In day 6 I believe about the 1:50 mark, there is video of you driving your 68.

Well if Terry doesn't make it I'm not going. J/K

However, we just lost a manager in one of our Madison stores, so guess who's in Madison for the next couple days.

Yup, that's right. Me. Ugh.

I have been working around the clock trying to get it ready. Honestly thought I had a good chance. I even took a couple days off work...which I NEVER do. As things stand right now I have the first engine still in the car. Broke the cam in with a carb and have now got it all switched over to the new FiTech system which I fired up today. Have a good bit of tuning to do but it runs well and holds a good temp even at sustained high rpm sitting in the garage on jack stands!

Back half is complete, new rear and suspension stuff all done. What a path that has been. Brake system has been a real pain but almost there. I only had one bad leaky flare in all my lines which if you have ever tried to double flare stainless...well, then you know. Have some parts coming in tomorrow to make the "made to fit" Wilwood front stuff fit properly. Simply cannot center the calipers with the brackets provided. Got some bushing/spacers to fix it. Will finish brakes and get bled tomorrow. That makes it mechanically all set to go. Need to verify trans is OK...which the way things have been going is a 50/50 at best. Good news is I had a brand new Astro T5 shipped in sitting in a box should I need it. If it comes to that all bets are off and I yank the engine too and slap in the stroker. Still have to put the front clip on but that shouldn't take me too long. After that it's off to Iowa, or Southern IL or Indiana or wherever else the cruise is at the time I hit the road. I will not be in Kansas, unfortunately. That much is a certainty. Sorry guys. Hell or high water I will partake in a part of this damn event.
