Ain't Irma a Biotch

So that's why Chicago has such the highest murder rate in the nation? Open your eyes. Wake up!

Come on already. Who is getting killed and who is doing the killing? 90% of all those statistics are gang violence perpetrated on each other. Mainly black on black. Another 9% is domestic stuff but again almost exclusively among the same category of people. That's what you get in a city like Chicago run the way it has been for decades. NONE of that stuff happens in the downtown city proper. It's all in the immediate surrounding ghetto/burbs. I for one would be happy for it to continue until they ALL kill themselves. Nothing lost.

I've often said that if they all want to kill each other just lock them in an abandoned building and let them have at it. Then when whoever survives, bomb the building.

My BIL has his condo in port charlotte on the pease river. Not looking good. He is up here right now getting ready to sell his house here. I jokingly told him that he might want to wait to see how the condo looks after the hurricane passes.

Getting hammered good now, the big wave ahead of the eye is coming in. Can not believe we still have power. That should cease in a few minutes.

Whew. Made it through today. 0.75" of rain, winds 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. City closed down. Only a few power outages here.

How did you fare, Dale?

In all of my 56 years living in Florida this was by far the worst storm to go over us. Wind gust of 90 mph with 70 mph sustained. It was wild standing on the porch last night and seeing the force of that wind and rain. The neighborhood suffered minor damage ( fences, shingles etc. but nothing major ) Counties to the east got up to 2 foot of rain with lots of flooding and tornados. She was definitely all she was hyped to be. We consider ourselves very lucky on this one.

More importantly, did you run out of boiled peanuts? Now THAT would be catastrophic!
