Has anyone mixed tire brands on the same car

and had good or bad experience? I am trying to find the right combo of size and performance characteristics for my 408-powered coupe and I am unable to find a tire with above average to high performance and the sizes I need. I want to put Nitto NT05's on the rear and Kumho Ecsta V720's or Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the front. My back up plan is to put the Michelin PSS's all the way around but they happen to be the more expensive of all the tires I'm considering.

I don't race either car but on my 67 I have Maxxis on the rear after melting down the the Firestones and still have Firestone on the front. On my 99GT I had Nitto's all the way around but someone slashed the fronts. I put Bridgestone Potenza on the front. I personally can't tell the difference.

Pretty common to put something like a DR on the rear and a different tire up front. As long as sized properly for clearance you wouldn't see any issues with driving, etc.

Sure, edit your original post so now my post makes no sense. These guys already think I'm crazy (that's putting it in a nice way) Good form! lol

We don't just think you're crazy...we KNOW you are crazy.

I've seen some cars pairing Nitto Drags in the front and Toyo tires in the rear. Was it better to use different brands of tires?

For the street I put Ecstas all the way around. For the I use Kumho Victorracers on Pantera rims I bought from opentracker.

I think you'll be fine mixing tires

For the love of mankind, DO NOT mix tire brands, you’ll disrupt the space-time continuum and bring about the end to the universe as we know it.
What about mixing same brands but mixing radials, bias ply or retreads?

Seriously, I don't see any problem with mixing brands as long as they are the same type and treadwear. Don't mix radial and bias, and keep the same treadwear and speed rating numbers.
