Shelby drop and lowering spring

John sells SD in his standard kits, which is what I purchased for my '66 GT coupe. He may be able to acquire other options. You will have to ask him.

I don't recall anyone using reverse eye springs. Mid almost always gets the wheel opening right at the top of the tire or even slightly lower. If I can get that far I will put the wheels on today and post a pic. It wasn't asked before but you do have stock spring shackles on the car now, right?

I'm assuming these are standard

I guess I don't understand. If I have old leaf springs sitting at 14 inches and assuming they are slight sagging, that would mean that original height might actually be 15. So how would a mid eye go lower then 14 inches?

But anyways I would be curious if you don't mind to take the same measurement. :)

Sorry for all the dumb questions: but is there a difference on leaf springs between Scott drake, grab a trak, and Opentracker? Because some companies are easier to return products if not satisfied. Because I'm actually leaning towards reverse eye and hoping it will sit 13 inches from the bottom wheel well lip to the center of the hub. I'm at 14 now with old original leafs.

I bought my front springs from ORP but he doesn't make them. I just prefer to give him my business. My rear springs I bought from Mustangs Plus before I knew about ORP.

I just measured my car, again it is a 67 with mid eye 5 leaf Grab-A-Track rear springs. I got 13" from the lip of the fender to the center of the wheel.

There is more to a spring than just eye position. Number of leafs and spring rates make a BIG difference. Older, worn springs flatten out letting the body rest lower than newer or stiffer (higher rate) springs. Craig and I seem to have the same springs and they yield similar stance. I would recommend you start with those and see how they work out for you.

Speaking from experience with John, I can say without question he will do whatever it takes to satisfy you as a customer. Here is a pic of my OEM GT leaf with the SD 4 1/2 mid-eye. You can visibly see the arcing difference. Hence the reason my car was raised upon installation. I think the contrast here is that most of us don’t remember how proud these cars sat from the factory because we have grown accustomed to everyone lowering them to some degree.

John offered three solutions to me at no cost, I chose the simple route of blocks to see if the leafs would settle some after some use. I even tried to pay him and he refused to accept it. ORP is fantastic business.

I second that, John at ORP is hands down the best customer service of ANY company I have ever dealt with!!!

I can't say it will happen for sure but they tend to settle a little bit over time. Mine dropped about an inch from when they were new. I remember thinking that my car sat too high when I installed them so I was glad it settled. The first picture is when I first installed them and second is after they settled

the stance looks great. So 5 springs, reverse eyes from ORP? I can't get pictures to come up on their website at the moment

Craig, those springs settled quite a bit. Perfect stance, but I hope some of the settling wasn't from the guy in the driver's seat in the second pic! ;)

lol, that might have had an impact! Here is a pic with no fat guy in the car.

Reverse eye 5 leaf I actually got them from summit. I feel bad should have gone with Jon at orp but I was worried that it would drop to much so I was thinking I might had to have returned them. And the return policy at summit is pretty good. But now that they are fine I should have bought them from jon. Lol.

Different topic: what color code is your red. Look really close to mine, but I don't have a color code. And it's hard to find touch up paint. That's close.

Well in 2007 I chose a Dodge color called flame red. It was available on trucks and vans. I don’t know the code but you could try touch up paint for a Dodge

Interesting. I'll take a look next time I'm at the auto store.

Well I'm back. Things are pretty good. I still have wheel bounce though. :(. Not initially but after a few feet. So I have a question. Currently I do not have any vibration issues at all (and don't want to create any). But I was thinking I should check my drive shaft angle with the rear 9 inch differential. How do I do that? Lol. Pics or a sketch would help.
