Heh, I just came across this reply again and wanted to note that I have done something about that. Had to cut a hole in the hood, but hey, fresh air! :)

Pretty radical approach to the issue

Got air shocks in the back that I keep pumped hard enough to not bottom. The front is a puzzle not yet solved. I like the stance, but it's definitely incompatible with great handling. I haven't decided what to do, but I'm not going to raise it much, if any.
Air Shock police here...

Air shocks as in like the old Gabriel HiJackers or air bags? I'm sure you know or have heard the sheetmetal where the shock top mounts isn't strong enough to not eventually fail and tear with that shock exerting greater force than the design allows. Then again, the way yours is sitting you might not even have enough pressure in them to worry.

Indeed, but I had to do something. The hood wouldn't close with a filter taller than 2" and even then it was bumping the stud and rubbing the filter top. My original idea was to put a cowl scoop over the hole, but I've grown kind of fond of the way it looks now and think I'll leave it like that.

As for the air shocks, they look just like what I had on my first Mustang 45 years ago.

I'm sure you tried a drop base air cleaner but just in case anyone reading this is not aware you can get an air cleaner with a base designed to lower the filter down around the carb an inch or so to improve hood clearance.

That allows me to use a 3” filter. It’s possible a 4” filter might fit, never tried one.

Definitely Kona blue. Same color as on my 65 fastback and 2016 Focus ST. Was first used on the Mustang around 2011

Thanks! Can't wait to see it in person. I'm sure I have seen it at Knott's before but now I can focus on the paint.

Charlie.jpg Kinda weird, I don't actually have a lot of pictures. FYI - I was at the Starbucks to the right...not Office Depot.
