Ford fires Raj Nair

How do they say : power eroticises.

The more people realize this fenomen , the less it will happen in the future.

At least I hope so.

*I AM NOT CONDONING SEXUAL MISCONDUCT* however, this whole "#me too" thing has gotten out of control. I'm starting to believe it is similar to a modern day Salem witch hunt. All it takes is a simple allegation and lives and careers are left in ruin. I promise you every single one of us here is guilty of overstepping by the definitions of inappropriate behavior as this movement has redefined them. Don't think so? To many at the forefront of this if you ever told a female coworker she "looked nice today" because she maybe had her hair done differently or you just knew she had elevated her normal dress code for a special client meeting or such you over-stepped and had potentially made her uncomfortable with your unwelcome, veiled sexual advance. Seriously. If your employer HR was notified and they buckled to the pressure it would be grounds for discipline. Seriously.

I work in a professional sales environment everyday. Women can't have it both ways. They can't use their sexuality to gain customers or advance their careers and then turn around and accuse the same parties they manipulate with their dress and actions of sexual misconduct because they act in response. I know I am over simplifying and generalizing here but I live this stuff firsthand all the time.

People need to grow the F up. All these Hollywood women who by their own admission used the casting couch to advance their careers and are now bemoaning the culture need to shut the F up. They used the "system" to their advantage and knew it at the time. I knew the term "casting couch" when I was 12 years old. Do you want me to believe some Iowa farm girl seeking fame in Hollywood didn't know it too? Please. So sick and tired of our pussified society.

I agree, women cant have it both ways. I just saw where one of the gymnasts who was molested by Larry Nassar posed naked for Sports Illustrated with writing all over her body. Really???

Its not a black or white situation and therefore needs to be evaluated one case at the time.
And yes , you are right ! Women can't have it both ways ! Has to be said also !!

I'm sure Ford looked into this and Nair confessed to something. For it to cost him his job I'm sure that it was more than "you look nice today"

As Bruno said...case by case.

And yes women do need to take control of their own decisions...and say NO.

Sorry, I grew up when # meant "pound", not "hashtag"...

I understood the whole "#me too" movement to be "pound me too".
I'm sorry for accepting so many offers...

.
Obviously. The point being made was it is getting out of hand and men are being found guilty in the court of public opinion long before any facts are known. The media jumps all over the first sign of an accusation and prints damning headlines far too early in the process. In our "modern" world most people don't read past that headline and opinions get formed without facts. It's a joke and there are many using this scenario to further their personal agendas.

Its gotten to the point where I typically don't even speak to women at work anymore. Used to speak in passing of hallways and so on. Don't even look at them anymore. Too risky. If they speak I reciprocate, but rarely more than hello or good morning...

That's what I did also.

well said.....It is how this country is in the state it is in right now.

"over allegations of inappropriate behavior"

nowadays you aren't innocent until proven guilty and if you stand up for yourself youre shamed until you quit. Or canned. F*ck !!

Being a conservative white male heterosexual is a dangerous thing in this country now.

If I look at or talk a woman without her consent, I'm a sexist pig, if I go near a black person shopping in my store I'm a racist, if I own a gun I'm a terrorist. If I believe people should the be in this country legally I'm anti American.

Give me a f##king break!

Wtf is next. If I have a job and pay my own bills I'm an elitest ass bag..... Oh wait to late for that one I guess.

The whole world needs to stop blaming their problems on other people and expecting everyone to kiss their ass and treat them special. Your not special cupcake get over it.

I'm glad I'm married. If I were in the dating world I feel like I would need to ask for a signed consent contract to even talk to a woman much less do anything else. Even my wife agreed that shit is out of control with this me too stuff.

Sorry. I'm done now. Continue on.

I'm not saying all women's claims are jumping on the band wagon but I did witness a women once get away with behavior that should be criminal. A young attractive Hispanic girl was hired to work in the machine shop (I'm guessing to meet quotas because she was NOT a machinist). Anyway, she would where some skimpy clothes that were revealing and literally rub against this older guy who was told by his foreman to train her. She did this on a regular basis. Eventually the guy touched her inappropriately (if I recall he grabbed her butt cheek or something like that). Even though he argued that she was provoking him to do so, she won a huge out of court settlement and then quit. The old guy was fired.
On the other hand when I was a mechanic and my early days as a machinist, it was nothing to have guys hang nude calendars or pics all over the shop. I do believe that would be pretty hard for a legit women to come into that type of environment.
Now that I have to work in a corporate level I have met and talked with some younger girls hired as engineers. They do talk of guys treating them differently or poorly because they are new and in a field once dominated by men. Most of them are pretty cool and will earn respect and go places but you can tell the ones who will try to manipulate the system because they are weak engineers. But we have had guys who were/are also poor engineers and somehow they manage to stay employed.
It's a messy world we live in. And I have to be careful myself as I work with women, transgender individuals and so forth. I try to just treat each individual as just that, an individual. I treat people based on how they interact and behave with me. Some you can be a bit more open while others you have to be very careful. It's a shame that some try to take advantage of their power and others try to take advantage of the "movement".

heck Craig even let me into his home.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I honestly don't think I'd survive in today's work world at my old profession. I always treated every person according to the effort and work that they did. That would never fly in this world.
