Apple TV

Anyone used this?

My home network is a large tv that the video and audio is run through my surround sound system (it has a video swith to select the DVD or Cable box inputs). Apparently, Apple TV uses an HDMI cable. How does the sound work with it (I am HDMI ignorant, except for knowing how to spell the acronym).

my new system is set up the with a sony surround setup (smart/internet/blueray player) hooked to non smart LG 60" thru HDMI cable. the sound is GREAT! i wondered myself how it would sound without a stand alone audio cable setup but couldnt be happier. bass booms & the clarity is awesome. no feedback noise at all.

Hdmi is audio/video combo cable. Picture and sound are much better than coax or composite connections.
