Knotts weekend

Dinner headcount...

Outback 10
Rock N Brews 14
Lupo's 7

I called and made reservations at Rock N Brews & Lupos.
Outback will be contacted later today.

Mike -- Sorry for the late response, but I plan on being there. Not so sure about Dawn. Put me down for everything.

Sooo...will I make it in time for Knotts? I'm confident, as long as there are no major setbacks. It is coming together!

Dad re-applied the chalk marks to the bellhousing, how quaint:

It's the stock 390 z-code 4bbl motor, 127k miles, but the lowest cylinder is 145lbs so were investing a little in it. It's kind of a Krylon rebiuld. It was a leaky mess so we re-gasketed the whole shebang, new oil pump, timing chain, pan, rebuilt the Autolite 4bbl carb, new flywheel and clutch, new tail shaft seal. We believe it had a valve job done in it's past.

It's a barn-find Country Sedan wagon out of Idaho, with a 390/3sp OD, last registered in 1982. I bet they didn't make 500 cars all 1965 with that trans (Borg Warner R-11 0.72 Overdrive), and it's really the only reason we drug it home. 1967 was the last year for the trans in a car, but F-150 trucks could still get them through 1972. http://www.fordification.com/tech/overdrive.htm

Mike, we could have used a 3rd set of hands, but in all fairness, it's sooo much easier to drop a 390 into a Galaxie than a Mustang. Get this: I can get to all the exhaust manifold bolts from the TOP OF THE ENGINE! I know you're jealous.

I've been busy with a bunch of stuff. We are trying to get both cars done and the house ready to sell. Add that to 50th wedding anniversaries and other family stuff and I've been reduced to a lurker.

I will be at the Friday dinner, Saturday activities and Sunday dinner with Amber and our unofficial mascot Murphy the chocolate labradoodle.

Sorry for the late notice.

Now to go back and read the thread to get the 411 on everything.

Oh yes, anyone for Farrell's ice cream on Saturday after dinner?

Guess that I am not going to the show this year. Registration is closed.

I haven't put a car in the show for a very long time.

I don't even drive a Mustang to the event.

Just drive your late model and join us, we are your friends and it is always fun to see friends.

Yep, we are down sizing. Amber wants to move to the central coast.
