The back story on the "purchase" in 2012 was that the Mach 1 was parked in the barn on the ranch in the late 1980's due to the annoyance caused by people stealing parts off of the car when it was parked in public places. Fast forward 2+ decades and a wildfire in the vicinity in 2012 (known locally as the Uvas Canyon) came too close to the ranch, stimulating the conversation: "We need to get the Mach out of the barn, what do you want to do with it Mom?"

Thus a barn find in one's own barn came to be!!
