Remembering Family

I wanted to post how I miss Family. Both of my grandfathers. My dad's Father was a carpenter n. Hilt several homes in Centerville, SD. While he struggled with alcolism, he remained paying attention to detail. He helped build my Uncles home which is gorgeous.

Secondly, hats off to my Mom's Dad. He farmed most of his life. I always adored spending the short times I got to spend with him. I will never forget him hollering at my Uncles because they busted the combine.

Hats off, Grandpas

Speaking of grandpas.
I never knew them cause both passed away when they were in their 40's.
So , both my parents lost their fathers at a very young age.
Being 57 now , I understand why I got a certain upbringing/education from my parents.

I never met my dad's parents. His dad passed away when he was kid and his mother passed when I was very young, but I never met her.

On my mom's side I was lucky to have both grandparents growing up. My grandpa got me into wood working and I have lots of memories growing up of spending time in his shop in the basement building stuff. I have many things in my shop now from him.

He actually just passed away recently, but I got to spend time with him up to the very end. We buried his ashes a little over a week ago in a plot with my grandma.

My Mom's mother made toys out of Dove soap bottles using string. We would squirt them and had an absolute blast doing so. Thanks, Grandma!

My Mom's Dad was insane. He loaded a spark plug socket with about 7 firecrackers. Put it on an extension and held it up like the Statue of Liberty.
My brother and I both were drooling as if the ice cream truck was around

Arthor Carlson, I miss you dearly. You were a good man and went upstairs way too soon. I miss you
