New Project! 1968 Volvo P1800 "Bullwinkle"

Installation of the front clip has started. So far the fit has been terrific. It actually looks better in there than I imagined thanks to the guys at Rhom Innovations and Ron Sutton Race Technologies. This thing is going to be incredible on the track and street!

I also got the new front tires in last week. Just waiting on some 11" wide Boze Wheels to mount them on.

Yep, 315's on all 4 corners. This thing will look like a NASCAR rolling down the road!

Not much to update right now. The fabricator working on my car caught his had in an engine fan and tore it up pretty bad. They have finished mocking up the front suspension and are ready to weld it into place.

On a side not I have decided to go with a Haltech engine management system. I will be utilizing their traction control setup as a plus.

Ron Sutton has also talked me into a fire suppression system as well as a data logger. I am looking into those now and should have a sense of direction on those by the end of the week. I am currently leaning toward an Aim data logging setup. I like the software a little more than Racepak and it is also the cost is a bit lower.

My new wider Boze Wheels should be here this week. Thanks Zak you guys are fantastic!

Auto suppression with 3 or 4 zones. 2 for engine, 1 by my feet and one by fuel tank.

I would ask if it works well but I hope you don't know. After all it doesn't activate when you blow up an engine.

My car is almost done with the suspension mods but I have started on a few more. I decided to up the power and will be putting on a set of the new AFR LS3 heads, Yella Terra roller rockers and a Fast 102 intake. From what I have researched this combo with my cam should yield a little over 600 hp.

I met a guy that does design work at The Roadster Shop and he is helping me with some final decisions. He took the photos of my car and did a fantastic rendering of the end result. This will allow me to change the color or details before it is finalized. It will look killer when done!

I want to get some input on my mirror selection though. I have 3 choices I am mulling over right now.
1 is the classic chrome bullet
2 is a 2nd generation Camaro mirror that would be body color
3 is a chrome rectangular one like the original.

What do you think?

The bullet mirrors are calling me.
The Camaro mirrors are too modern for the cars shape.
The original mirrors are too square for the cars round lines.
But thats just my 2 convict cents opinion.

No body colored as it doesn't fit the car. The contrast of the original mirror caught my eye the most. Gives it a classic look which keeps the overall design retro and not too harshly modern. Its the little things, right?

1 or 2. 3 just doesn’t flow with the car. If there will be more chrome on the car, then chrome the mirror. If no chrome on car, paint the mirror the same.

So let it be written, so let it be done.
