Got it. My parents had a Mercury Colony Park that had a 460 in it. That engine was a beast. If also recall, there is a short cooling hose near the water pump that was pain in the butt to change

There is an absolutely trick motor mount for Mustangs. When I get to the house tomorrow I'll reply

I have motor mounts made for the swap. The old ones worked great. The new one lower the engine and move it back for the trans to fit better. But it’s giving me fits. I’ll try again when I have an extra set of hands.

I'll be with you in spirit, Craig. Tomorrow I drop my new engine and trans in myself. By myself. So expect it to be a pain too!

good luck and be careful! I'm just mocking up everything right now. Going to set the block in and then put in the trans so I can measure for driveshaft, setup the hydraulic clutch and wire up reverse lights. etc. But it's a challenge by yourself!

Well with the granddaughter here over the weekend I wasn’t able to work on the car. But this afternoon I did get a few minutes to mess with it. I modified the mounts. Elongated the holes basically. And block is in. Car is up in the air and maybe tomorrow I’ll get the trans in.

I’m actually discovering that now!!! I think I just need to massage the brace where the crossmember goes

The trans is tight up against that brace. Not sure if some carefully placed dents will be enough or if I need to cut it and weld a channel in there

Can't really see in pics where the contact concerns might be. Just bear in mind that there will be movement with all the torque that engine will be generating. Error on the conservative side as far as creating clearance. You want the install to be a one and done deal, I'm sure.

Bet it's getting exciting though knowing the car is going to be "reborn" with stick soon.
