My new Ford DD

RagTop

Old Grumpy
After my wife passed away in 2014, I got crazy and sold three of our vehicles, a 2013 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL, a 2004 GMC Safari van and my DD, a 2000 Z28 Camaro. I replaced them with a 2009 Victory Red Corvette. It wasn't long before I missed the van and it's ability to haul stuff. Not throwing a sheet of plywood into the Vette or my '69 Mustang. Anyway, back in 1983 I bought a new full sized Bronco as a family car. We skied a lot back then and I hated putting on chains. The Bronco, nicknamed the "Broncallion" by a very good buddy of mine, was around for 17 years. When I sold it in 2000 it had 177K miles on the clock, but it still looked pretty good and ran great. It had served as the wife's DD, the family vacation vehicle, a grocery getter, a work truck and even a stump puller once. It was an XLT, so it was pretty nicely equipped with power door locks, cruise control, A/C, big tires and I had added a step bumper and some aluminum wheels. It was a carbureted 302 with a C6 behind it. Well, I just bought a replacement for the Broncallion. It's a 1995 Bronco XLT with 164K miles on the clock. It's got all the amenities that the '83 had plus power windows, rear window defogger and electric hubs. It is powered by the 5.8L (351W) fuel injected engine backed up by an AOD. The original Broncallion was dark blue with silver sides. This one is a real statement of the '90s being decked out in teal and white. Forthwith I present the Broncallion II, Son of Broncallion!

Does that one still have the removable cap on the back? Looks like it
Yeah, still has the removable quarter roof. I'd never taken the quarter roof off of my '83 for fear of creating leaks but once it was in my daughter's hands I came home one summer day to find it removed. With no roll bar it seems kind of dangerous. There's a guy in my current neighborhood with an all white one (OJ Special I believe) that has the quarter roof off and it really looks great.

Nice truck Ken. Very well maintained....until now.....hahahaha:eek::D:rolleyes:

Now go buy a piece of plywood.

i want a bronco;

1: find out where ragtop lives

2: go there and steal said bronco

3: clean the paperwork and clone the vin number

4: drive around in virtually free bronco

:D:D:D:D

Nice!

The cruise quit on our 02 F150. A trip to the local dealership fixed that.

Old 4 runners had a nice removable back piece too but I always preferred the Bronco. Especially the first version

I regret selling my 71 Bronco every, single, day. That thing was all day long awesome!

Had three of those 95/96 styles. Love them. That one is super clean too. Ford really did them right with the ride and off road capabilities. Would still have one if it wasn't for the better half being unable to climb in one anymore. Good luck and enjoy it.
