Pet GPS tracking

We put trackers on just about everything now. We have them on our company trucks and I can see where all my techs are.
But I am looking for GPS for our furry friends. Anyone have one? I am looking for a one time investment, no monthly charges, 100 bucks per device is reasonable. Would like to be able to view on my cell phone and maybe get an alert if it goes out of a "boundary." Ideal GPS would not have to be charged everyday. I have done a little research, just trying to get some real opinions, not fake news. o_O Also they will be used to track my German Shepherds.

My daughter got a GPS disk about the size of a quarter and puts it in my Grandson's clothes when the go to Disneyland. It interfaces with an app on her phone.

I want one for Murphy, he like to wonder when I'm working in the yard.

There are a couple out there. Tile.com has one but the battery isn't replaceable and you need to buy a new one about once a year. Ping is about to start shipping one that will have replaceable batteries and have several ways to track it. I intend on placing one of those in my car for tracking.

The one Laurice uses it Bluetooth. It's TrackR.

Inexpensive and useful but not gps.
