To prime or not to prime?

Recently ordered some air cleaner parts for my 72 Mach from CJ Pony, they come nicely painted in black, I am going to spray them Ford medium blue engine paint to match everything else, Should I prime them first in gray? I want to make sure they match the rest. I am going to use rattle cans

If you want to make sure they match the other parts, it only makes sense to prep and paint them the same way. Just my .02

The primer color can influence the paint tint, so I agree: go with whatever you did to the rest of the engine. Be sure and scuff the part first.

And don't forget to breathe in the fumes while painting! It's good for you!

I never inhaled, only exhaled. And I did not have any sexual relations with that young girl (with the blue dress and white stains).
