1967 Mustang front end questions (Shelby vs Eleanor)

I've got a '67 Mustang coupe that is missing a lot of its frontend/grill pieces. The previous owner had hit a pole and damaged the passenger headlight bucket/grill/hood/bumper/lower valance. Rather than replacing them all with stock replacement parts, I thought it would be fun to upgrade to a 1pc front end and a '68 Shelby style hood.

I've found that I am most drawn to the Eleanor style lower valance, but the Shelby headlight buckets with the 4" filler panel. I don't like the driving lights in the Eleanor headlight bucket area or the crazy long hood.

I'm not super crazy about the way the Shelby headlight buckets have a weird body line on the outer edge where the transition from stock/normal outer thickness to the wider inner edge.

Informally I've decided that I'm going with the Eleanor 1pc frontend but removing/filling in the driving light area.

Has anybody successfully used a Shelby like filler panel with the Eleanor 1pc front end?
Ideally the filler panel would let me use a 'normal length 68 shelby hood'.

I think worse case scenario I might have to learn how to work fiberglass.

You should check out mustangstofear, Rich makes the best fiberglass bits for our cars. He offers both Eleanor and Shelby noses as well as their own MTF SR nose (pictured below)

All of their noses are going to use the longer hood. They have a 68 style hood without the filler piece up front. I actually have their 67 Shelby nose and plan on using the 68 style hood they offer (below).

As for the combo you mentioned, I do believe I saw one of the vendors offered the Eleanor nose in 2 seperate top and bottom pieces. You'd have to be really good with fiberglass to get it all together and looking nice, but it'd definitely be different.

Of course there's also Cobranda. They offer a large selection of Shelby parts:

I may not have been clear.
I want a 1pc front clip.

The other thing I want is a 4” strip that ties the headlight buckets together like the 68 Shelby.

These pics are of a Shelby 500KR that was at a local car show. The piece I’m talking about is the one that says “SHELBY” on it right up front.

I understand. That would have to be completely custom as nobody makes a one piece 68 Shelby nose. I was just suggesting options. I asked Rich about a 68 nose and he said there wasn;t enough interest and it would them to make require a special hood.

Our next project will be the complete 68 Shelby front end. I have all the pieces to start with, just have to correct all the the imperfections and start making molds. I couldn't believe the competitors hood only weighed 22 lbs and you could see daylight through it LOL.

man you are many years too late! That's really what I wanted was a 68 Nose! But anyway, I am happy with at least part of a MTF nose!

The full 1pc front clip (fenders/hood/headlight buckets/lower valance) is just a bit too much.
Recently I bought 2015 Mustang rear rotors/calipers (take offs) and I'm going to acquire the front soon(ish).
13" rear, 14" front.
Then I'll make the adapter brackets to mount them onto my '67 8" and front brake spindles.
The problem is that they require 18" rims as a minimum, so I was looking at the Maier 2.25" widened front fenders.

Tarafied, that front end would be perfect if had the front 4" filler panel

It's made from the upper part Boom shown in his post, I got it from Rich at MTF. The lower is Maier Racing. The 68 protrudes a lot more than the 67 to create that 4" filler panel but if you wanted to use a stock length hood, you could make a filler panel. It wouldn't be 4" though, maybe 1 and 1/2" or 2" so it might look silly. But MTF makes the 68 style hood for the 67 so you could buy that hood and cut 4" off and attach it the the nose (unless the scoops are too close to the edge...).
Would putting a 68 Shelby hood and nose on a 67 convertible be sacrilege! Asking for a friend.
Mustangs are the most customized cars, if that's what he likes he should go for it!
