Boom's 68 fastback

Haven't worked on the fastback much lately. I did decide to order the dash pad from MTF so I can start getting some other things lined up.

The middle will have voltage and fuel pressure (after regulator)

Love your valve covers. Where did you get them?

Haven't posted much lately. I'm still getting situated at my new place. I did place an order to Gary with Vintage LEDs and got the full set for the car. They look very well made and arrived quickly and packed securely. http://www.vintageleds.com/

I also ordered a new custom dash bezel kit from Mustangs to Fear, still waiting on that one though.

I did convert my rear light to LED years ago . I did it only for safety reasons cause regular bulbs aren't bright enough and was scared someone would rearend me at some point.

I agree, that's the same reason I converted my coupe to LED years ago. There's so many distractions these days you need to make yourself be seen as much as you can.

I got the new MTF dash bezel in. It looks great. I'll get some pictures soon. They added a threaded stud for mounting instead of that plastic tube that you have to cut the stamped washer/nut onto.

Need to order some gauges now. Good thing Autometer has a sale till the end of the month.

Here's some pictures of the new MTF dash bezel:

Never argue with a Moron. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Went to test fit the new dash, there are a few trouble spots. Hopefully MTF can show me an easy way to fix the issues, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I should be able to install the new tail light assemblies. Just got fresh foam pads in from NPD.

Those look really nice, but they don't offer a 5" speedo and tach. Options are really limited for that, no speedhut, either. Only some of the Autometer lines offer them.

Looks Nice, What do they have for the Heater/AC control area on the left?

They don't have anything currently. They are considering making a plate that would go over the existing bezel there. I may see about taking the factory one apart and having it blasted and painted to match.

I've finally gotten around to ordering my gauges. I went with the COBALT line by Autometer. I went with the standard 5" speedo and tach. Up top, the bezel is made to optionally fit larger 2-5/8" gauges. The bezel on the Cobalt line is very close in color to the Sterling finish on the bezel. I'll post some pictures once I have some more of the gauges in.

I had to send the gauge bezel back as they forgot to add a few brackets, but it is back now and I have begun test fitting the gauges. I so far only have the smaller 2-5/8" gauge. I had to enlarge the holes a tiny bit to get the gauge to slide through, nothing major.

I ordered new mounting hardware for the dash trim and the gauge panel from NPD, so hopefully this weekend I can start testing fitting the gauge panel in the car. I've slowly been making progress, I have the MTF dash pad as well so that also may need some adjusting to get everything to line up.

The dash pad has spots for 2 additional 2-1/16" gauges. I'm thinking voltage and fuel pressure. Since I plan to mount the battery in the trunk and run an the in tank fuel pump it'll help me quickly notice fuel or electrical issues.

More to come this weekend hopefully, been working alot the past couple months.
