$451k Auction win for a ....rebodied Camaro????

KBMWRS

Welcome truth back
Donator
From Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine:

1969 Camaro ZL1 with automatic Trans
The car was a drag-raced when new and restored 20 years ago to original condition by Floyd Garrett Muscle Car Museum. Due to extensive mods performed on the car for racing, it was rebodied with another Camaro shell; the soft parts of the interior were replaced with standard parts from a donor Camaro and the engine a casualty of racing was replaced with a non-numbers matching period correct ZL-1.

So my question is....what the hell made it worth $451k????

No original parts on it. It isn't the car that race back in the day. It would have been easier to just move the VINs. :sarc

Wth? People are stupid. Even if it was all numbers matching that seems high.

My dad drag raced a 69 camaro with a 427. Maybe he should have kept his.
