Whats your oppinion guys regarding this drive shaft tunnel.
Could this been due an accident or is it normal.
Doesn't the tunnel be smooth and not wrinkled ?
Ever seen this ?

Can't imagine that this "damage" comes due an accident.
Up front is nothing to see that is related to an accident.

Only thing I can think of is the front drive shaft yoke letting go at speed and smacking the tunnel.
It kinda looks like a crappy fiberglass job too, but that could just be the pic.

The images you provided to Bruno show smooth sheet metal. The textured areas in your photos aren't paint but seam sealer which the factory sprayed on in certain areas (the area around the seat paint and floor pan to fire joint being two such areas). Bruno's problem is not normal and clearly shows damage to the tunnel sheet metal, not rough paint.

Well , thanks for all the suggestions.
I have bought a "celette jig " and will put that 68 coupe on it in the near future.
I will check if it is indeed some damage due to a broken driveshaft.
The plan is to make some fixture and use the 68 coupe as a template .
That way I can repair my 67 convertible project the proper way.

The 68 coupe sits on the jig.
I will try to get beneath the car and inspect the drive shaft tunnel.
Pic will follow.

as promised the pics ( I got beneath the car :D:D:D )

Well , the pics looks odd because of the rare position the pics were shot.:p:p
