68 GT

I am just curious if a '68 mustang GT came with any particular rear end ratio? There's one at the local picknpull I saw last time I was there.I'm still thinking on a 3.55 rear for my aod. thanks, gary.

Most 1968's got a 2.79, 3.0, 3.25 for most SBF. The 427's got a 3.50. I'm sure one could special order a different rear end ratio, but those would be scarce and hard to find in a JY.

I believe '68 GT cars came with 9" rears with 3.25 ratios being common.

The std 302 GT ratio appears to have been 3.00 in an 8 inch carrier.

The optional 3.25 gears in a GT got the 9 inch.

Thanks for the info. I might go check it tomorrow to see if it's a 9 or 8".
