I have a friend that has a few Mustangs. One is a 79 that used to be a turbo 4 banger but has an unknown year 302. It's not too bad. He wants $500 but will knock some off for 67/68 Mustang parts. I have a console he wants for sure. Anyway, what do yawl think...

I would probably do it, but I would make sure the car seals up good as I would probably be sleeping in it. Don't you have a couple kids getting close to driving age? Sounds like a great project, not that you dont have enough already....

Kat it's for the whole car. I don't know if the engine is any good. It's been sitting a while with no carb.
and yes, I do have some kids getting ready to drive. It would be for one of them.
My wife already knows I am nuts!!!

Not a big fan of the four-eyed turds. :puk But if your buddy wants to give you $500 to take it off his hands, I'd still ask for $1000, though.

Well, I like the Fox's... They're fun to drive. Parts are plentiful, and they're easily modded.

That being said, the body on that would have to be just about perfect for me to even consider bringing it home... There are plenty of examples, even in the Northeast, of Fox's in good running condition for not many more beans.

Heck, there was a low mile (~70K) SVO in the wheeler dealer for under $3K recently. Those things are sick fast for a 4cyl turbo. Got the "collectible" factor too.

here's the 82 gt i built about 15 yrs ago. had all aftermarket or later model suspension & would turn on a dime. would have made one helluva fun track car. built a 289 that came out of a drag car i had at the time & would run off & leave a new (in 97) cobra. wish i had this one back...

if you get it, let me know. i think i still have all the receipts for the stuff i put in this one. would be a good "build guide".

That's pretty sharp Steve.
This one is surprisingly straight with no rust. It looks worse than it is because it's flat black primer that's been sitting outside for a long time and it had rained prior to us looking at it so it was partially wet.

My son bought it. He pulled all the interior out and no rust in the floors. Him and I have been having some issues but I went over to his apartment today to see how he was doing.
It has an AOD trans (car was a originally a stick shift with turbo 2.3 4cyl). How do you hook up a TV cable on a carb?

Check out a Lokar TV cable and the right adapter for the carb you are running to give you the correct geometry. They offer one for the holley snd another for the eldy carbs.

Cool, thanks. It didn't have a carb on it but I have several Holley's to offer him. I was surprised it had an AOD. I figured it was a C4.
I'll try to get some pics. It is surprisingly solid for sitting in a field for who knows how long. I gave him the wheels and tires that were on my 93 (cuz I replaced them with 16" Pony wheels). I have a bunch of Fox body stuff to donate. He is going to make it a DD.

I gave him these wheels...
