I don't think I have ever seen the dark brown but I'd wager the black looks better. At least to me.
 
Looks great! Your first photo looks like an advertising shot straight out of a '67 brochure! (BTW,that's meant in a complimentary way). :thu :thu :thu
 
I also like the black dash pad contrast against all that amber color. It help compliments the black dash panels. Very similar to what I did with Shag.
 
I also considered using a black knee pad above the glove box. The original knee pad was in good shape so I used it.

Same here ! BTW let the kneepad be what it is now .Just my opinion.
