Another New Member

Fortunately for all these new guys the fastback ruled haven that is the FIX isn't prejudiced against coupes. ;)

Just kidding;). WELCOME

Welcome to the insanity.
I have a 67 coupe.

Appreciate the warm welcomes!!!

Currently I do have Hidalgo torn down somewhat. I have sent off the export brace, monte carlo bar and shock tower caps to get powder coated. A couple years ago I had the clutch fan blades, pulleys and alternator brackets done when I upgraded to a 4G alternator and a serpentine belt system. They turned out great so now I want to get the rest to match.

I also had to drop the EPAS to get at the clutch assist spring and install those little plastic bushings, what a royal pain. There just wasn't enough room to remove the spring while the EPAS was installed.

So, it isn't exactly running right now, lol.

Here is a pic of the items I had powdered last time and the pedal assembly.

For those who want to upgrade to a Serpentine belt setup, below is a quick list of parts and some pics.

68 Mustang 4G Alternator and Serpentine Upgrade
This was used on a 1968 289 with the factory water pump (passenger side inlet). If you have a different water pump, the spacing may not work out like it did for mine.

6-rib serpentine belt - Good Year 4060400 (40")
2000 Taurus Alternator - 4G

1970-73 SBF alternator brackets and spacers
......D0OE-10A336-A2 - Head bracket
......D0OE-10156-A - Alternator Bracket

......D0OE-10145-A - Alternator Tensioner Bracket or
......D3AE-10145-DA - Smaller offset Tensioner Bracket
I used the larger offset and was able to run it on the front-side of the alternator.

Pulleys
......D9AE-8509-B79 - 80's Crown Vic water pump pulley(standard rotation)
......E4ZE-6312-AA - 1990 5.0L Mustang lower pulley

70's 302 4-bolt Harmonic Ballancer - 28oz

Grab the aluminum spacer and bolt that is the main pivot for the alternator.

I had to use a 3/8" spacer on the top hole of the alternator bracket that bolts to the water pump.
