Anyone using the standard T5 handle?

Just wanted to know if anyone is or has used the standard T5 shift handle? What are your thoughts? Is it too short? Any pics?

The standard fox body shift lever should be way too short. It also has almost no angle to it. In a fox body, the transmission sits a bit farther back and up, which requires only a short, slightly angled lever. In a classic, you need something longer and angled back to reach back to your hand. Even then, fifth is a stretch for some people. Most Mustang vendors sell a classic-styled T5 shift lever, if that's what you're looking for.

I'd also strongly recommend an aftermarket shifter, something with adjustable shift stops. T5's have no internal shift stops, so overeager shifting can lead to bent rods and forks, among other things. A Steeda Tri-Ax or Pro 5.0 would be your best choice, unless you want to fork for an MGW shifter. Stay away from chinese crap. Even the B&M/Hurst shifter is so-so quality.

I have a vintage look handle on my TKO600.

I want my car to look vintage but have modern strength and comfort.

I had the standard t-5 handle when I first put my t-5 in and I didn't like leaning forward to shift. I bought the t-5 handle that looks original style and I really like how comfortable it is to shift now. I bought my shifter handle thru NPD but you can get it just about anywhere. I will try and include a pic or link of my shifter.

That is the same handle I have on the 67... SWMBO likes it and that is her car so that is all that matters....I like my hurst with the white ball in the 65.
