Cheap Chinese heads...UPDATE April '12: IT'S ALIVE AND RUNNING!!

Sorry for the semi-highjack of your thread. Giving it a little more thought, I realized that the "high water mark" of the fuel in the passageway from the jet (in the bottom of the float bowl) to the booster (in the throttle bore) would be at the same height as the fuel in the float bowl. If that height is the same height as the booster itself, then the fuel would flow through the booster, independent of the venturi effect.
 
Not to beat a dead horse, but those are NOT the same castings as the Flootek heads from Alex. I bought a set, still in the boxes. Here are some pictures for comparison. You'll notice that the castings are quite different around the spark plug holes. In the first picture, you see Brian's Chinese heads and the casting around the spark plug is different.
