Dining Recommendations in Marin?

My wife has the opportunity (?) to spend a week in Marin Co. in a few weeks. I told her I'd check with the refined palates of the Bay Area on dinner suggestions. Looking for interesting, good places near San Rafael.

Chevy's, Chili's, & Hooters are a given. What other places would you suggest?

The Lark Creek Inn was my favorite restaurant in the Larkspur area as far back as the mid 1970's. I haven't eaten there in years and unfortunately a quick google search reveals an apparent change in management and very mixed reviews. Hopefully some Marin locals that have some recent experience they can share will chime in.

Other than that, the other restaurants I remember in San Rafael and Sausalito are gone. I guess I don't get up that way often enough!!
