Doc and Fifi together.

That is awesome!

Both of these B-29s were resurrected from the bombing range at NAS China Lake. Hats off to all those who made this happen!

What was the name of the B29 that they got out of the ice and then burned with a heater?

What happen to the Enola Gay ? She was a B29 too , isn't it ??
I saw it last at the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Museum outside D.C. a handful of years ago. That is a fantastic museum of aircraft that you don't get to see at the regular Air and Space museum. Definitely worth a look.

A couple of random pictures from EAA today.

The Commemorative Air Force in Camarillo has 2 B-25s one of them is a Marine Corp version. When I retire on Oct 1 I will start volunteering wrenching on these machines n get a couple of free rides.

I'm ridden in "Yellow Rose," one of the Commerative Air Force B25s. That was fun. I've been fortunate enough to ride in some pretty cool aircraft, including a Provost Strikemaster III, T6 doing aerobatic formations, a F4U Corsair doing some dog fighting. I did aerobatic/upset recovering training in a Extra 300, and high altitude upset recovery training is a A4.

Enola Gay is in DC still. Funny story. I was there last month for a few days, so we ran over there to look around, because they always have something new in there. There were a group of asians taking a ton of pictures of Enola Gay, and I nudged my co worker and asked if he thought they knew exactly what they were photographing. LOL
