generator to alternator

a friend has a 64 1/2 with the 260 and wants to swap out the generator for an alternator. whats the best way to do this? and what parts do they need?

they dont care about originality - so i am of no help to them (and a 1 wire replacement would work fine if easier).

any help is greatly appreciated

I did this on the 260 in my Fairlane. It's a 1 wire alternator, but looks like the original generator. It uses the generator brackets too. Not cheap, but pretty darn cool. Powermaster PowerGen:
