Has any one ever heard about this Mustang before?

Reminds me of one of our lost Fixers in the VA area. Wonder how his all wheel drive project mustang turned out.

as i recall two prototypes were built for ford. too complex for the times, as well as too expensive. might make sense today though.
When a co-worker asked me if I had ever heard of Ford building a 4x4 Mustang I thought he was talking about Ken Block and Hoonigan.
and it looks like there was a couple more . . . 1969 4x4 w big block power !! How is it that I haven't known this before today ??!!

there is also a mid engine Boss 429 you might not have heard about...

I did hear about this Boss a few years ago. I thought it made more sense than a front-engine Boss '9.
There was a mid-engine '69 I think that was sold at Barrett Jackson. It was great looking.

I remember that one, it always had a large crowd around it. I looked thru all my PT pictures but did not see it. You would of thought I would of at least took one.

If it was orange than I'd say yes, they had it at Carlisle one year.
Actually, the drivetrain is blown 5.4L out of a Ford GT. Bobby Johnson is the owner/builder and a member of my old club, the Georgia Regional Mustang Club in north Atlanta. He brought it to the Mustang 50th in Charlotte. I believe it sold for around $100k. Well under what it should have sold for in my opinion.
