I have not changed my settings but I have to log in nearly every time now,

Would someone care to help a computer challenged old man on what is wrong, I have the keep me logged in(forever) checked, and remember you have to be very deliberate when explaining stuff to seniors sometimes!

Check to see if you have your browser set-up to remove cookies everytime you close the browser. I had this problem a while back after I decided to delete my cookies and I forgot to uncheck that box afterwards. So as a result my cookies were being deleted every time I shut down my browser and I had to sign in again. Just a thought from another old guy.
