Interesting Story (maybe)

Well, I cruise the local Sonic, DQ and other local burger joints on the weekends as often as I can. Several high schoolers in the area do as well. Some are just cruising by looking for something to do, others hang out with friends. Anyway, there are a few kids that have been coming over to talk with my family about the car and stuff. I have even seen them at some of the local car shows and at Beach Bend Drag strip. They have become regular "posse" staying close to the car at shows and hanging with us at the hot spots. Before school started, one of the girls in the group was sitting on the tailgate of her buddy's pick up when we pulled up to DQ. We talked a while and I could tell she had something on her mind. She kept hinting at something, finally I got it out of her. She wanted to ask if she could have her Senior picture taken with my car but was afraid to ask. Not only did I say she could but I told her I'd let her drive it too. Some weeks later she called and asked if I was serious, I said yes and she set a schedule to get the pics made. I went and picked her up and she had a huge grin as I handed her the keys. I warned her it had no PS but she didn't care. She drove it like an old lady being very carefull but she was excited. Just the other day she called and said she had something for me, we all piled in the Stang and headed to her house. Here and her mom gave us a professionally made photo "book" and a picture to frame (the pic that would be in the yearbook). It was really fun to see her so happy and surprised that I let her use the car. When talking with her mom, she said she had a date coming up, I told her if she keeps being cool I'd let her take it to her prom! She about fell over! Here are a couple pics...

one I took while the photographer shot some pics:

the photographer's name was Shelby, she even asked if she could take pics of the car for herself!

Now that is really what this hobby is about. Glad to see others let some of these deserving kids get some use out of a car.

Good job Craig and nice story.

The only requests I've had for a photo shoot (multiple requests from the same guy) is for the local strip club. The photographer (probably just a sleezeball with a camera and a home made business card) insists on draping the mostly naked girls all over the car and I've refused.

I labored for 2 months working the dents out of the roof and the hood is FG. There's no way in hell anyone is laying all over my car... I don't care how naked they are, sorry.

LOL @ Dave. It's sad, but I'm in agreement with you.

Though, admittedly, I have mentioned to my better half about taking some "good" car pics of her...

Thanks guys, her mom couldn't believe I let her use it and drive it. I told her mom that I could tell her daughter was just one of those kids that deserved a reward once in a while cuz she was so polite and friendly. Even the couple of guys (not boyfriends) she always hangs out with are real decent kids. They truely admire the car and the work that went into it. They have become our friends thru the mutual admiration of a neat car.

She is quite a nice looking young lady as well so that didn't hurt!

Dave,
I don't blame you about the crawling or laying on the car either... maybe he could give you some samples of his work first :naug

From my experience, this tells me one thing..... you haven't gotten her drunk enough yet.

You're right Dave, she doesn't drink :rofl

Crap, remind me to think before I post....now I have more offers than I have room for. I'm gonna have to build a compound out back to keep them all housed in.

This is one of the coolest stories about a Mustang that I've heard in a long time. I really like the notion that there are young kids out there that are respectful, and not afraid to show it. Maybe there is hope for the next generation. It just seems we usually see the dark side all the time. Very cool Craig, you definitely get an attaboy for this one! Here's to ya!
