Uh oh, the air shock police will be here shortly.
Pretty radical approach to the issue
Air Shock police here...
Air shocks as in like the old Gabriel HiJackers or air bags? I'm sure you know or have heard the sheetmetal where the shock top mounts isn't strong enough to not eventually fail and tear with that shock exerting greater force than the design allows. Then again, the way yours is sitting you might not even have enough pressure in them to worry.
Indeed, but I had to do something. The hood wouldn't close with a filter taller than 2" and even then it was bumping the stud and rubbing the filter top. My original idea was to put a cowl scoop over the hole, but I've grown kind of fond of the way it looks now and think I'll leave it like that.
As for the air shocks, they look just like what I had on my first Mustang 45 years ago.
I'm sure you tried a drop base air cleaner but just in case anyone reading this is not aware you can get an air cleaner with a base designed to lower the filter down around the carb an inch or so to improve hood clearance.
That allows me to use a 3” filter. It’s possible a 4” filter might fit, never tried one.
Anyone know what color this is?
Kona blue maybe.
Definitely Kona blue. Same color as on my 65 fastback and 2016 Focus ST. Was first used on the Mustang around 2011
Thanks!....Now leaning towards that color for my car......
Where can I find a pic of your fastback?
I have lots of pictures, but this one shows the color in the sun. It will be down at Knotts again this year.
Thanks! Can't wait to see it in person. I'm sure I have seen it at Knott's before but now I can focus on the paint.
Is that a Bronze Star with a V?
Me? I didn't say anything.
and you need to keep it that way!
Kinda weird, I don't actually have a lot of pictures. FYI - I was at the Starbucks to the right...not Office Depot.
Yes, that's 2012 Kona Blue. Great color...
Really changes with the light.
That is NOT Purple....bwaaaa
