pushrod length

Alright i Need stangfixer's help again-

I have a hydraulic cam and pedestal mount rockers, Last night i was trying to figure out how to work this Trick Flow pushrod tool the 7.500-8.700 version

I drew a line across the top and bottom of the tool so i could know when there was a full rotation

The mark on the valve tip was dead center at 16.5 turns out- I measured with a crappy tape and got a hair over 8-1/8" length

Adding the .050 measurment to each turn i get .825 added length to the 7.500 which makes 8.325 Does this sound right? Seems like a long pushrod??

That does sound long. What size engine? Are you using a solid lifter? Make a solid lifter by taking one of yours apart, remove the spring and replace it with a stack of washers and re-assemble. This will provide you with a solid base to get an accurate measurement off of.
