Some of you probably remember the 70 Boss clone that lurked in my garage for years.

About a year ago my buddy decided to sell it and it was purchased by another friend that I work with.

Since then we've got it running, added A/C along with quite a few minor things to make it a driver.

He wanted to paint it calypso coral with black stripes and then changed his mind and wanted to make it yellow again.

I found a picture of a black one with white stripes and photoshopped it. I have him talked into painting like this. I think it would be quite unique and would be a stunner with red interior.

What do you think?

Black interior. I love that paint scheme!

That is for sure one of my favorite body style cars ever!

When I bought the 65 I was looking for a 69 FB. I also like the 71-73 FBs.

That's a bad ass looking car. I like the paint but I'm not a fan of red interior. I'm not a big fan of black either. The mule is black and has light blue interior. The orange coup has white interior. Craig's car has the parchment color I believe and it looks nice.

I have porno red interior in my 67!
I like the black with red interior, I wanted to do that with mine but my painter talked me out of it.

Great minds think alike. i said it out loud "That's pretty bad ass and then began to read the other comments. Maybe even a satin black would be nice too.

Very good color choices in just the right balance. Red interior would work great with that.

A red interior is A LOT OF RED. Originally that was the plan for my black car. I painted all the panels and dash a non-stock deep cherry red. I have since backed of that idea and am going more black with touches of red, accent stripes on the seats, etc.

I would probably leave the lower dash black and use mach 1 black carpet with red inserts. Dash pad, door panels, quarter trim, seats and headliner in red.
Seats would be red leather with black piping.

It's funny how tough this combination can be. Done right it is killer. Go a bit off path and it can look like something off Pimp My Ride.

FWIW, I think the more interior chrome involved the better. The fusion of black, red and chrome, to me at least, is sharp. I left my dash red and used a black pad. The glove box door is black as is the gauge panel. Add in all the chrome knobs and such of the early cars and it really pops. Definite old school look.

so is this TOO much red?
Be honest, I can take it

For me yes, Craig. I put my whole interior in to get a feel for it and that's when I upped the black content. But my car is black. I think that has much to do with it. A black dash pad and carpet alone made a big difference in toning it down a bit in mine.

I think the all red interior is doable. They came that way back then...well not Boss's but 60s cars.

But I would make the shaker black. I know its in the stripe confines but a red shaker just seems wrong.

I was thinking the same thing... Satin black shaker, and perhaps satin black on the hood just between the shaker and winshield trim just so it doesn't look like an island in the sea of red. Either way it'll be very nice.
