The sounds of turkeys comming from my power steering

Had the Stang out today and for the first time I noticed the sound at full turn right or left. I figured it was not a big deal. Got home and checked the fluid and it was right at the full mark. I investigated it a bit and realized at full turn, and I mean only when pined at the steering stop the pulley on the pump quits spinning. In maybe 6-8 times today it started chewing up the sides of the belt. Anyone have any ideas other then not turning it all the way? It's a new pump so could the slave be going bad? Anything I can look for?

I have normally found that to be a bad/loose belt. That tight turn demands more pressure from the pump, thus a possible belt squeal.
