Looks to me like you are only missing that one bracket. Good luck stuffing that beast into his Mustang. I would think dropping the old one out with the K member and putting the new one in from underneath will be easier than going from the top. SO MANY things in the way on the top end! About half way into the tear down I mentioned to my friend it would have been easier to drop the motor out to do this work.
we have discussed that. I don't have a lift but we may be able to billy rig a way to raise the car. The old motor came out the top okay but yeah, this DOHC is HUGE!
at a bare minimum you will need to remove the master cylinder, hydroboost unit and most likely some of the AC lines to go from the top. Even then it will be a squeeze. Ford puts it in from the bottom, in fact they say you can't even remove the valve covers with the engine in the car, but it was possible, just not fun. Getting the car several feet off the ground without a lift could be problematic however.
we were able to leave AC, PS, brakes, etc. all in tact pulling the 4.6 out but I can see looking at your pics that it will be a really tight fit. We may have to rent a fork lift and pick the car up from the side...
I left the master cylinder connected to the brake lines, just moved it aside a bit. But it would need to go to pull the motor. As it is, we fought to just get the covers off. This weekend will be the test when it all goes back together!
