Trunk Bump Stop

I am getting down to the finer details of the bodywork on my 67 FB and the rubber bump stops that mount onto the trunk lid are not making contact with the pads on the bodywork. They are about 1/2" too short.

I dont know if this is due to the FG junk I am mounting to the car or bad OEM design.

Has anyone else experienceed this and how did you get over the problem? I am currently trying to source a thicker rubber bump stop. Can anyone send me in the right direction for sourcing thicker
