10" vs 14"

Why do they offer 10" air cleaners for a Holley 750dp? I assume, I should go the biggest possible?
Here's a 14 incher. Have maybe a 1/8" gap next to the dizzy.

Bigger is not always better, but for air intakes, I'd say bigger IS better.

Have you looked at any of the filter tops? These really open up the air flow.

I went with the Amsoil filter, just because it's Ford blue.

Found that out today. 14" HiPo air cleaner hits the big cap MSD dist. Used a Mr.Gasket air cleaner spacer and now is too tall for the hood. Have to find a 10" that doesn't look like it belongs on a Camaro.
