15" Tire ?

I finally sold my 14" Magnums. :) I am thinking of buying 15x7 magnums for my 73 vert. I am looking for opinions on 15" raised white letter tires. I know of three brands (BFG Radial TA, Cooper Cobra GT, Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T).

BFGs would probably be best from your list and is what I run. Not the greatest traction wise, but look great on magnums.

You'll hate Cooper Cobras. They are rock hard and have some wicked radial bias.

I happen to love my Coopers. Look good, handle good and the wear seems good so far also.

Just relaying my experience with them. I hated the set I had, but that's been 10+ years ago. The bandit that sold them to me probably had them on the shelf for five years before that.

Are there any 16" raised white letter tires being produced? I saw where you can get 16" magnums.

I like the BFG white letters myself. I don't recall a 16" RWL in the size you're gonna need but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Most 16" RWL are gonna be in truck tires due to the lack of sidewall.

I love my Coopers as well (on 15" rims). Between the new springs and shocks and the Cooper Cobras, even the wife says it rides better than our '07 GT. :vic Having said that, if and when I get a set of Magnums I will probably try the BFG just for Sh*ts and grins.

I have not been able to exercise the tires yet, but they ride is nice while cruising. I did notice that they have alot more traction than the previous tires. I used to spin the previous tires everytime when starting without even trying. :)
