17 or 18" rim suggestions?

Ok guys. Been searching for a couple months for some really nice rims for my 69 mach1. Want something that stands out but are affordable! Ive found some really nice billet rims but Im not paying $2000 for just rims thats crazy. The best ive found so far are the mb old schools for like $1200 for 17's and tires. Just looking for more options. Want to keep 17's in the front for clearance issues and either 17 or 18's in the rear. [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

As I suggested on the other site, Coys wheels are a great choice if your looking to save some coin and get a nice set of wheels. There is also the FR500 wheels, but then you run into all kinds of backspacing issues. Any of the late model wheels would be a good deal, but you have to like the look, I prefer the more old school dish look where the late model wheels run a LOT more backspace.

I am running staggered wheels on my car. 17's in front and 18's out back. I have Boyd Coddington wheels and like them. They sell two types of rims, cast and billet. I have cast wheels which makes the price much more reasonable.

68vert, what did you pay for your rims and tires and which ones are they? I looked at the coys and like them.
Probally goin with chrome since it will never see rain.

It was about 4 years ago when I purchased the wheels and tires. I paid about $1600 for Boyd Magneatos and BFG KDW2's. I priced them out locally and ended up getting them from America's Best at a substantial savings to many other places. I even priced them a different locations of America's Best and saved about $250 by driving an additional 8 miles. :)

I like the foose nitrous but can only get them in 8" width. Think a 275 rear tire is too wide for an 8" rim? Thinkin of the fr500 wheels too.

i bought my wheels directly from centerline off of the "overstock & closeout" page. they had a deal going where they made the wheels to my specs , backspacing & lug pattern for $199 per wheel (17x8 front 17x9.5 rear). i ordered my two front tires from tirerack (235/45-17) & the rears from wholesale tire (285/40-17). ended up with around $1250 total for everything.

I don't think it is. I know that it is. You'll need a 9.5. 275/40's are 10.8 inches wide.

I have the Foose nitrous on my 70. I like them, but the width is an issue if you want to run 275s.
I paid about $1200 for them about 4 years ago.

I do like the coys too.

Nice car. I really like the american racing shelby razors. Im thinking of 17's in th efront and 18's in the rear. Seems like their only for 94+ but should work with the adaptors. Can you guys take a look at them cause theres a bunch of different offsets. Just want ot know what offset to use with what size adaptor.
