Hi there I hope you can help me out here.I have a 66 mustang 4spd drum to drum car. I changed the MC some time back.

I bought a SSBC front disc brake convertion kit for it. I have a MC that i used before and it is the smaller vertion.I bought a 67 MC with dual bowls.

I was going through the box and found out that one box had a MC in it and a proportinal valve. The MC that came with the kit says it came from a 67 mustang pb/disc and it has 15/16 dia bore.

should i use the smaller MC or the Larger MC?

i will post a few pic of the MC.

Also where the push rod goes the smaller one has a groove and the one that came with the kit has a smooth one.

Here are a few pic.

1st one is of the new MC

The one on the right has the grove and the one on the left has a smooth surface where the pushrod goes.

Thank you very much for your help..God bless

I thank you guys for your time.

Do you know the bore size of your original MC? 15/16th seems like it would be a disc/disc MC. If your planning to run Disc/Drum I would think you would want a little smaller bore, but still use a prop valve.

I am not sure what the original bore size was.It had the single resivour then changed it over to the dual Res.Is there a special way to get the pushrod out...I have been trying with no luck. Thank you. God bless

Yep, brute force.

Place the master cylinder into a bench vise with the rod pointing downward. Clamp a large pair of Vise-grip pliers onto the end of the pushrod. Using a hammer, smack the jaws of the vise-grip pliers downward. Repeat the smacking motion until the rod pops out of the master cylinder.

Personally, I'd toss both MC's for a '74 Maveric MC for a manual disk/drum car. It will feel like you have power brakes, and you don't have to deal with the hassles and headaches of a booster.

That's what I have on the '66, using '70 Mustang front disks, and stock '66 drums in back.

Thanks guys for your help.. I dont have power brakes. It is a drum car. On the prop valve. The line comes out on the front bowl and then goes into the (IN ) side of the prop valve and goes out the ( OUT) side of the Prop block down to the main line that goes to the rear brakes? There is nothing else on that line right except the rear brakes right? Thanks

Correct. The design of the prop valve is to only adjust the pressure to the rear brakes. You adjust the pressure to the rear brakes to match the front brakes, but the front brake pressure is a constant.
