2007 Fucos fails again

On my way home up PCH, the Focus was making some odd sounds from the top end, but seemed to be running fine.

I got o Las Flores Canyon road and the engine died. I almost got it to re-start then it would not turn over at all. Had it towed home. Decided to go off the deep end and replace it.

Picked up a 2015 Fiesta S model. 1.6L, 5 speed, A/C (this is a big upgrade for me). It's a white 4 door with charcoal interior.

I got the Ford X-Plan pricing. Made them take off the lojack (on a 15k car, really?), and some other accessories. I also got 0% fr 6 year financing and the X-plan pricing on a 6 year, 100,000 mile extended warranty.

It seems to ride nice. Getting used to the Microsoft Sync. Hands free dialing seems to be ok.

I'll donate the 2007 Focus to Wounded Warrior car proect.

How many miles was on the Fucos? The 100k should last you a year or two with your commute. :p You need a/c up there in Ventura? ;) So does the Microsoft sync with your iPhone and play your music? Maybe an Edge in my future.

it has over 178k on the body, but only had about 40k on a rebuilt engine. In discussing what happened with my office neighbor, we suspect a valve spring failed and that is what did it in. I bet that the shop did not replace the valve springs when they did the rebuild.

I'm putting about 24k a year on my commuter car so the extended warranty will still be good when I am elligble to retire (escape).

SWMBO was looking at Mustang GT 'verts while I was doing the paperwork.

Mike, i'll give you a smokin' hot deal on the Fucos - since you're used to 100k+ vehicles, you'd probably like it!
