Pics, or it didn't happen:p

Check local Fox network listing . . . youve got a couple more hours before the race concludes. Live video is being shown there. Im not that savvy to display a movie (yet).

Not only are the cars an embarassment now they have Daytona pot holes and Vegas caution lights. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Wouldn't it be interesting if someone started a car race series that used stock cars? It could be a national series. People could then relate to the teams that were driving in it and buy a like car on Monday morning after their car won on Sunday. Now that I'd watch. :dh

Come on Mikey, why does every Nascar post have to turn into a bash fest?

Hey I got an idea, they could call it 'TransAm' and the new Mustang, Challenger, Camaro and AMX??? could run in it, they should have done this 40 yrs. ago..
Agreed, I'd watch it to, is there a series like this already and I don't know about it or it's not televised widely?

Here's a pic I found:

'Cause I'm OLD....get off my lawn!!!! :lol :lol :lol
More bashing.....NASCAR is popular because the fans like all the pretty colors going around and around....reminds them of their broken clothes dryer. :lol :lol :lol :lol

Bring back the OLD NASCAR!...hellll run 'em on the beach then onto the street like the OLD days....now that would be fun. :pbj

:lol :lol :vic

AMX? Is there gonna be a new AMX?

The problem with Trans Am is it was a road course series. Americans prefer circle track, like it or no. Stock Car racing is decidedly American. More power, not more finesse and handling. Balls to the walls! Not carefully hitting the apex.

And trust me, I think road course looks a LOT more fun. I can't wait to do it...but the American audience will have a hard time showing up to anything but left-hand turns.

Most popular American Open Wheel event? Indy 500...Not a road course.

I saw the pace car in person last week here at the dealership where I work in Las Vegas. I wasn't crazy about it after seeing the photos, but I think it looks much better in person.

There is a series like that. Its called "V8 Supercars" but WE have it and the highlight is the Bathurst 1000km race every november

SPEED channel used to cover the V8 Supercar series. Dang good racing to watch. Alas, I haven't seen it on for a while now.

The Aussie V8 series was on yesterday! Abu Dhabi (sp?) I believe it was.

That series ROCKS :vic

Last week it was in Dubai, so the series is spreading out.
There is also the V8 utes, which are 1 ton pickups based on the GMH and Ford sedans used in the supercar series.
Only problem with them is they let Sheilas drive too, so it takes 3 hours to get them parked straight on the grid.

I went to an American V8 series event at the superspeedway a couple of years ago. Hardly anyone there and the new 'vettes lapped the field on the road course. :doh

Yikes!! Didnt know there was so much NASCAR bigotry here. Thanks Ryan and Steve for sounding off. I started the thread to highlight the GT350 pacing the race, not open the door for NASCAR bashing. AND the Mustang is the newest body to be approved in Nationwide.

Hey now, I dislike nascrap as much as every other regular joe, but I refrained from my normal bashing.................this time :ecit

Looks like the closest thing we've got to the old TransAm is V8 GT-1?

"AMX? Is there gonna be a new AMX?"
Gotcha Steve :vic

I'll have to look on SpeedTV to see if they have any coverage, looks like they still heavily mod the cars though with huge wings, etc. but I guess that's what the superbird was like too.

I personally much rather watch a road course than roundy round, I guess it doesn't make for good viewing since they're not all in a nice pack for one shot like NASCAR?
