3 teens wreck 2010 mustang while on test drive

According to a report on Mustang Blog, 3 teens have managed to horribly wreck a 2010 Ford Mustang GT. Apparently the teens were given the keys to the car for a test drive and during the run, they crashed it. Looking at the speedometer picture, it seems they were doing at least 100mph before they got into the mishap. Now here’s the amazing part. None of them were wearing seat belts, resulting in them being flung out of the car. Now you would think this is an instant death, but no! They actually survived with only a few minor scratches.

Looking at the cabin, you can see it is still pretty much intact and has proven its worth according to safety standard boards. The car was given the Five Star Safety Rating award, and this incident seems to prove it. Even though this story is still unconfirmed, the evidence adds up and the story checks out.

I have seen this picture before. :scar No, not this this very pic. But I remember someone posting a very similar accident; a brand new 07 Mustang GT out for a test drive by a teenager with the same result. I also remember that the front wheel came off of that Mustang as well. fd

i know they survived this one, but why the hell are these kids driving without seatbelts.
they should all be dead.
i wonder will they realise they have a second chance at life

At 15 my buddy let me drive his 5.0 Cougar in the dirt back-roads near his house out in the stix. I lost control of the car and flipped it right over. I was the only occupant not wearing a belt, but stayed right in my seat the whole time.

Changed my entire view of life. I still did plenty of other dumb stuff behind the wheel of a car, but it certainly tempered me a lot, and yes I did realize I was lucky.

Man steve, i could only imagine how pissed your buddy was.

He was insanely embarrassed he let an underage person drive his car, and we cooked up a plot to not tell anyone I was driving. My mom could read me like a dime-store-novel, and got the truth out of me. She demanded that the boy tell his parents, and then repaid them for the damages to the car.

He never took it out on me, but it definitely changed our friendship. Recently the third person who was out there with us was killed (he was an explosives expert in Japan for the marines...He was asked to dismantle a US bomb that was found on the bottom of the ocean, and it went off in his face) and the guy who owned the car posted on the FB Tribute page for our friend who passed that some of his favorite memories were the three of us acting a fool in the woods. I was surprised, to say the least, that he said that.

My only question was what dumb butt would turn three teenagers loose for a test drive without supervision?

Personally, I think seat belts are over rated and I am convinced when it's your time to go then it's your time. Years ago a friend of mine and his then girl friend / now wife were in a bad accident and hit a tree head on, this was back in the 70's when cars were not built like today. She was wearing her seat belt and survived with minor scrapes. He wasn't wearing his and was thrown clear and only had minor cuts, etc. Where he had been sitting was totally demolished and he would've probably been dead if he had remained in the driver's seat.

That said, I wear my belt due to state law if for no other reason and I refuse to ride a bike. I've had too many friend seriously injured and or killed on bikes.

I think that for every person that is saved by being ejected from the car there many others there are killed because they were ejected. My wife's sister would have survived an accident, as did the other five occupants, if she had had her lap belt on (this was in 1964 before shoulder belts).

I won't move my car until everyone has their belts fastened.

My daughter is alive today because of seat belts. Her friend on the way back from spring break to Casper, WY rolled her 98 Explorer 7 times. At one point she said her foot and part of her leg was outside the window. The three of them who were in the vehicle had minor cuts and that is it. All three were wearing their seat belts. All this due to black ice!

Last Christmas I hit black ice in Idaho and rolled a 08 Dakota twice. Seat belt on and I came out of it without even a scratch!

Seat belts are mandatory to be worn in our cars! State law or not!

Has anyone heard from our forum member named "Waffles" lately? I could picture Waffles being this stupid..... and he's a Ford salesman.
