3M Paint Restoration System

Just purchased a Porter Cable 6" orbital polisher and the 3M paint restoration system. I've always been afraid of buffing thinking I would burn through the paint. After watching a demo last year at a car show, I learned you cant really damage the paint with an orbital buffer. Tried it out this evening on my truck. I'm pretty impressed with it. Truck already looks much better and I haven't even put the final polish on yet. Its pretty easy to do.

Pictures dont do it justice.

Not too much to it as long as you keep it moving. Most quality compounds will give you there level of cut (3M is great). I would suggest staying away from the wool pads unless you need to remove a lot of material. They will very quickly burn through edges and rises.

for a daily driver that spends time out in the weather, the clay bar kits work well also. it's unbelieveable how much different the finish looks & feels afterwards...
