65 light switch question

For a 65 light switch, I believe that the front parking lights are driven off terminal P of the switch. My terminal P gets power when the switch is in the parking light position (pulled out one notch) and no power when the headlights are on (pulled out all the way). Is this how it is supposed to work (no front parking lights when the headlights are on)? the directionals work fine with the light switch in any position. Or is my Autozone replacement switch not working correctly?

Yes...factory is no power to the front parking lights when the headlights are on. I have been known to jumper them to the tail light wire at the switch so they work in both positions.......

Listen to my assistant: the workings of your headlight switch is correct.

That works....and you still have all 4 lights in the park position......or should have anyway.
