I've got a guy wanting to do some trading on some parts I got. He's got the above transmission. What's it worth? Should I allow him 250-300 bux trade value? Will I be able to get my money back on it?

there is a feature on eBay that lets you see what items have sold for...
with that being said, I would guess that sounds fair. It really comes down to what you think is fair and even if that value is fair it might be more than you want to credit when you consider your going to try and sell it later.
