67 Door Removal

To remove the door, should I remove the hinges at the door or at the body? I would prefer the body but..... If I remove the 3 bolts will I be able to place them back (when installing the door) without any problem? Cheers, Bill Palmer

IMO. REMOVE THE BOLTS WHICH HOLDS THE DOOR TO THE HINGES. EASIEST AND BEST WAY.

A lot of people will drill a small hole through the hinge and into the body and into the door itself to help line them up during reassembly. If you have a guide hole in both sides of the hinge, it should not matter which side comes off first.

Sometimes the backer plates will fall in the A piller when you take the bolts out of the hinges there. Not a big deal if you have the inside out. But if you have the choice, I would just unbolt the door off the hinge instead.

Thank You Guys for the help. I've been pondering this for awhile now. I certainly learn something all the time from these forums! Cheers, Bill Palmer
